Currently known as the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week or 'RAFW', the annual Sydney event showcases wholesale fashion collections from the Asia Pacific. The premier event provides a platform for designers to showcase their collections to the world's most influential buyers and generate some global media attention. This is Australia's attempt to match the glossy fashion industry in Paris, Milan, New York and London. Australian Fashion Week celebrated its 15-year anniversary in 2010 with a pool of talented designers including Lisa Ho, Zimmerman, Alex Perry and Bianca Spender. Formerly known as the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week it all began in 1995 according to CEO and Founder, Simon Lock.
Rosemount Australian Fashion Week Spring Summer 2010/11 will take place from 2 – 6 May 2011, at the usual Sydney fashion venue in Circular Quay [1].
