About
Clare Press is the designer of her namesake label, Mrs Press [1], launched in 200?.
Clare was the Vogue Australia features director from 2003 to 2008. She began her label as one-off reworked vintage pieces, sold through Marnie Skillings' Sydney boutique [2], and the first Mrs. Press ready-to-wear range was launched in Spring/Summer 2007[3].
n 2009 Clare had left Vogue to focus on growing her brand full time, developing her distinctive style signature with an eye on vintage silhouettes. She works with the very best fabrics and makers locally to create pieces that are as luxurious as they are elegant and refreshingly original.
The Mrs. Press flagship store, named one of Marie Claire’s best boutiques in Australia, opened on Sydney’s Oxford Street in July 2010, while the label is stocked by top boutiques nationally. In 2011, Clare's first book, The Dressing Table, was published by Penguin's Lantern imprint. She writers the Ask Mrs. Press column for Instyle magazine.
