About Tabitha Somerset Webb
Tabitha Somerset Webb is the founder and principal designer of handbag and accessories label Tabitha and co-designer of fashion label Project D by Dannii and Tabitha.
Tabitha is a celebrity favourite, her handbags and accessories including cashmere scarves regularly spotted on noted fashionistas including Dannii Minogue, Fearne Cotton, Molly Sims, Myleene Klass, Christine Bleakley and Cat Deeley.
In 2009 she teamed up with Dannii Minogue to launch fashion label Project D by Dannii and Tabitha and, since launch in 2010, pieces from their capsule dress collections have been spotted on celebrities including Elizabeth Hurley, Kylie Minogue, Amanda Holden and tennis star Victoria Azarenka.
Tabitha Somerset Webb - Background
Formerly an advertising executive (for six years), Tabitha decided to pursue a career in fashion in 2003. Having searched, unsuccessfully, for a "slouchy, easy, urban" handbag that she loved, Tabitha spotted a gap in the market and decided to design her own handbag and accessories label Tabitha.
Tabitha says her lack of formal design qualifications are an advantage: "I am lucky that I come from a more commercial point of view in that I will think: ‘will this be what women will actually want and be able to use’? If I went to design college I might not have thought that way," she told the Irish World in 2010.
