From the shop

"High & low fashions for hipsters & haute sentimentalists... Come on in for architectural, eye-catching, kitschy and iconic found-treasure.

  • ALL ITEMS ARE carefully hand-picked & must pass stringent tests to be deemed DV-worthy.
  • ALL ITEMS ARE superior in design, or textile, pattern, colorway, texture or resonance in order to add maximum YUM to your wardrobe.
  • ALL ITEMS ARE returnable

I want you happy as pie, uber-styled & alluring to the eye! So, join me for a frock-frolickaganza. Smile & wear vintage."

About the owner

Vintage collector Betsy McDonald is the sole curator and creator of deadlyvintage.com. With a background in painting & performance art and a taste for loopy, eye-catching & eclectic fashion design, she scours the Shenandoah Valley & Baltimore/DC areas for appropriate vintagewear for her online shop. Her customer is Miss Not-afraid-to-be-noticed, who likes to play with notions of femininity & transgression in fashion. A single parent, Betsy divides her time between managing the website and raising her adorable tot (who loves mixing vintage one-of-a-kinds with Old Navy, Hanna Andersson & Oilily).

About DV

DEADLYVINTAGE.COM is a vintage fashion website of two parts:

deadly vintage

The larger world of the site is an extensive vintage closet and boutique. The website is organized by drop-down menus (shop by department, era, color or garment) and a tag cloud of vintage-related keywords. Clothing ranges in value from museum-worthy artifacts to cheap options for fashion-lovers.

vin*fashindex

The remainder is a hand-curated vintage-fashion directory & search engine. The Vin*fashindex contains resource links to: vintage shops, dating & research materials, communities such as fashion forums, collectors clubs & costume societies, blogs, magazines, costume & textile shops, museums, on-line collections and more. A directory of vintage shopping runs the gamut from exclusive boutiques to edgy little indie shops.
