About
Claire Geist was born and raised in new York City. Her father is a photographer and her mother is a former designer and graphic designer. When she was 13, her family moved to Buffalo, New York. This move made Claire more eager to get in touch with her love for fashion since the home of New York Fashion Week would no longer be right outside her door.
Claire's style can be seen as inspired by everything, but consistently rooted in classic American style and masculine/feminine mash-ups. Her style icons include Jenna Lyons of J.crew, Serge Gainsbourg, Ali Mcgraw, Jim Morrison, Harriet Mays-Powell, Tina Chow and Yves Saint Laurent. Her Love for New York City is also a big inspiration to the way she dresses.
In October of 2008, Claire started Faboo as a way to combine who two biggest passions: fashion and photography. Since its inception, Faboo has reached thousands of readers from all over the globe. Claire's big break and inspiration to continue Faboo more seriously was The Weardrobe Bloggers' Conference in September of 2009, which brought together 21 bloggers including Tavi Gevinson of Style Rookie and Kelly Framel of The Glamourai for a weekend of web tutorials and discussions on fashion. Since the conference, Claire has been featured twice on Teenvogue.com , interviewed on Seventeen.com, become a part of Seventeen magazine's 2010 Style Council, and participated in the MYNY project with Coach.
Claire will be entering Parsons School of Design in New York City for photography while continuing to work on Faboo.
