Kate Spade was launched in January 1993 by Kate Spade and her husband Andy Spade.[1] The label started with a collection of handbags. They then branched out to include stationery, personal organizers, shoes and apparel. [2][3]
In 2004, Kate launched a home collection brand, entitled "Kate Spade at Home". The line featured bedding, bath items and various home and wallpapers.[4]
In 1998, Kate Spade was honored for her handbags with "America's New Fashion Talent in Accessories" by the CFDA. [5]
