Marchesa was founded in 2004 by British designers, Georgina Chapman, wife of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein[1] and Keren Craig.[2]
The label was named after eccentric Italian socialite, Marchesa Luisa Casati and her mantra to "be a living work of art".[3]
The designers have stayed true to this motto, with their designs often worn on the red-carpet, at events such as The Oscars and Golden Globes.[4] The designs are heavily inspired by Asian and vintage designs, which helps create their often unique and glamorous collections.[5] The designs have been worn by celebrities like, Jennifer Lopez, Anne Hathaway, Sienna Miller, Dita Von Teese[6] and Eva Longoria.[7]
The brand has been covered in top fashion magazines like, Vogue, W, Vanity Fair and Elle.[8]
Notte by Marchesa was launched in 2006[9] by the company as a sister label offering more casual designs. [10]
