About
For fledgling designer Salita Matthews you could say that fashion is in the blood. From her grandmother's silk factories in Thailand to growing up in a family of leather and silk artisans, Salita has always yearned to design.
Salita set her sights on the design world after studying for a diploma in Fashion, followed by working as a stylist in New York and Los Angeles for a freelance photographer, and a stint in fashion manufacturing and production in Australia and Bali.
Her self-titled label Salita Matthews began in 2007 embodying everything Salita is, exotic and imaginative.
Her collections are inspired by her travels and her east meets west upbringing, combining unique embellishments, quality fabrics and rich colours.
Paving her way to achieving her dream of becoming an internationally renowned fashion designer, Salita is determined to stay focussed on creating both exciting and beautiful creations.
